Hi, my name is Frederick Brandt, but I do go by 'Rick' or 'Fredrocker'. Wargaming has been a part of my life since 1970. In fact my first job (way back in 1972) was as a runner and playtester for a company named Simulations Publications, Inc publisher of Strategy and Tactics Magazine. Not only did I get free games and magazines but I also got to hang out with great people like James F. Dunnigan, and Redmond Simonsen. I only worked at SPI for two summers and I beleive I made a whopping 50 cents and hour (off the books), but my exposure there led me to a career in Publishing and Electronic Publishing. Over my 30+ year career in publishing I have worked on projects that included: Sikorsky Aircraft's Maintenance Manuals, IRS - Taxpayers Information Publications (TIPS), US State Department's Foreign Policy Manuals, US Dept of Treasury Tax Stamps, Hearst Publishing 'Motor Books', The Mobil Travel Guides, US Navy's Mips and Meps (Pacific Coast Fleet), Lots of Government Printing Office contracts, and many others some of which I cant disclose. I also was on the the ISO 8879:1986 Committee ( Standard Generalized Markup Langauge SGML, the forrunner to something called HTML and the internet) and I was a representitive on techinical committee ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 34.

All in All I enjoyed my career and it has come full cycle, back to playing wargames...
MY VISION FOR THE SITE The game Combat Mission has been around since 1999, and I always loved the design of the game. The ability to not only customize graphics (which I have dabbled with), but being able to create scenarios and campaigns which can be totally fictional, or pretty close to accurate based upon available historical information. In 2011, the release fo Combat Mission Battle for Normandy, revamped the whole game 'engine' but left all the features of 'mods' and 'battle and map creation'. At this site I have put together some of the sceanrio and campaigns I have created since 2011, but will also be 'enhancing' many as to utilize many of the expanded 'game engine' features that have come out over the past 6 years. Those who know me, know my term 'Feedback - Good, Bad, or Ugly is always welcome' and I stand by that as I believe it will make my creations better in the long run. Since this is a re-vamp of my old Combat Mission Site, I ask that you check back often to see as things progress.
